We have been in Broken Arrow for over a week now, and almost every day I’ve told myself I need to sit down and write about what’s been going on. And now here I am, ten days later with way too much to say. In short, let me say this: Things are going really well.
We are all moved in, amazingly. People keep asking (jokingly) if we are, and it’s always a surprise for them to hear that yes, we actually are all the way moved in. Katie worked like crazy to make this pile of twigs look like a nest, and we even have all of our wall decorations up too. We plan on getting a little video tour up soon to show you what our house looks like, so be looking for that over this next week.
Even though we have only been here a week, it feels like it’s been much longer because of how many people we are getting to know, and because of all the work we’re already a part of. I’ve already done a high school devo, we’ve been working with the church’s summer program for the neighborhood kids, and I’m lined up to be teaching classes from now until December. Katie has been to the high school girls’ “Circle of Sisters” group, and last night I attended the counterpart, “Band of Brothers.” On Thursday mornings there is this great class time with junior high boys called “Timothy Class” that I got to visit too.
I’ve also been given an office up at the building. It’s been used as a storage room for a long time, so I’ve been spending some time cleaning it out. Katie also wanted to help in that room, so she sent me with a 5×7 picture of herself and some candles (it’s got a slight musty smell to it).
Everyone has been so good to us, and we are trying our best to remember all the names we hear every day. We are so glad to be here and glad to be working with such a friendly, loving, and active congregation.

That is great that you are doing so well… sry about the musty smell…
To everyone who reads this… It is wonderful to have Brandon and Katie with us. We are the ones who are blessed because of their presence here in Broken Arrow. Even in just the little time they have been with us, i can imagine that when they leave for Ukraine, I will surely miss them! But… it will be a great blessing to meet them again in Ukraine!
B and K… you are continually in my prayers!
