Our Trip To Germany – The Recap
As you might recall, Katie and I were traveling to Germany to renew our Ukrainian visas, and to attend an annual retreat for European missionaries. After our ten-day adventure, we thought there was just too much to cover in one post. So enjoy this short recap and, if you’re so inclined, follow the links to read more about the separate events and to check out some pictures from the trip.
The first day of the trip was absolutely terrible. One thing after another went wrong all day long. At the end of that day we decided that this trip was unfortunately not going to be able to include renewing our visas. Read about that ugly, terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day here.
After that day, Katie and I spent some very enjoyable days in the city of Frankfurt, both before and after the retreat. You can read about some of the things we did (and check out some pictures), here.
We were also extremely blessed to spend four days in the beautiful city of Rothenberg. We attended the annual Euro Family Retreat and had a wonderful time meeting missionaries from all over Europe. You can read about our time in Rothenberg (and check out pictures) here.
And if you’re interested, below is a five-minute video with some random clips from our time in Germany.
Thanks, everybody!

Wow! What a beautiful place! I especially loved the Christmas market in Frankfurt & really really really enjoyed seeing you two, now this made me cry, I miss you so very much. Katie you are so beautiful & funny, the Chef nutcracker how cute. Brandon you hair is long, longer than I’ve ever seen it, I like it.
Maybe some day I will be able to visit Germany & tour some of those beautiful places.
Love & miss you both, Mom :) :)
thanks for sharing this!! It is a beautiful place and can’t believe how nice and quiet the train is! Loved the Christmas market! I would love to visit here someday!
Brandon and Katie,
Just wanted to say that I loved your video travelogue, and getting to see you enjoying your trip to Germany…so picturesque, like watching a movie!! Hope you get the visa situation worked out. Many blessings to you from “THE Broken Arrow”.
Yes… awesome video… bummer on the VISA problems. I love that both of you can take a frustrating situation and make the best of it. God shines through you both in such amazing ways. Enjoy the blessing of being where you are every minute.
Know that I love you and pray for you often.
and by the way… The Broken Arrow High School band won the Grand National Championship… meaning the BAHS band is the number one band in the United States!… and also… BA will play Union for the state football championship tonight… just in case you were wondering!
Stay Warm… enjoy Sasha’s wedding. Brandon, you will do awesome officiating for the wedding. Katie, your smile is contagious! (of course, Brandon’s little smile while playing Scrabble with you on the train was priceless… no pun intended)
Shine On!
